"Poem" for Robert of Huntingdon

"Poem" is a rather grand term for the following, even "verse" is misleading. Anyway, I wrote this for A Life for a Life, but it was overly romantic for the story.

This is from the POV of a woman madly in love with Robert of Huntingdon.

Warning: FLUFF!

I wish I were the firelight shining red-gold in your hair,
I wish I were the fire flames gilding your skin,
I wish I were the flame shadows stroking your face.
I wish I were as deep in your dreams as the heart-bud of the fire.

I wish I were the wind running fingers through your hair,
I wish I were the cold air that blooms on your cheeks,
I wish I were the shadows that fold a cloak around you,
I wish I were the darkness to watch over you all night.

I wish I were the dawn-tide that bathes you,
I wish I were the wings of day that embrace you,
I wish I were the wide sky to encompass you,
I wish I were a spirit of the greenwood that calls you home.
