Game of Thrones

I'm watching Game of Thrones. It's good, though a bit gory in places for me. The world created is convincing, the acting is excellent and the plot engrossing. I have read the book so I know that Ned Stark is shortly going to be executed. That shocked me when I read it and I'm not looking forward to seeing it on screen. I'll probably look away!

I haven't read the book (yet) but have heard good things about both the book and show.

I asked my family to buy me the DVDs for Christmas, without realising that it's not realeased here until January 2012. Oh well, a new year's present to look forward too!

I recommend the book if you like a good pseudo-historical fantasy. I found it engrossing.

A new year's present sounds good to me!

Yay! I'm so glad you are liking Game of Thrones! (And I definitely didn't look when it happened) ;)

The episode I watched last night had a man skinning a stag. I didn't look at that, but I couldn't block out the sound effects. Ugh! Was that really necessary?

Oh, excellent! I really enjoyed both the books and the TV show.

I kinda guessed as soon as Sean Bean was cast (he has a habit of getting killed...) but in the book I was surprised that a central character would get killed off so quickly. George R.R. Martin is good at that.

I must buy the rest of the series, but I've only seen them new and expensive.
