The White Queen BBC series

I've just watched the first episode of the BBC's The White Queen from my streaming site. This episode was about Edward and Elizabeth meeting and getting married. We get a glimpse of his brothers George of Clarence and Richard of Gloucester. It's good quality and absorbing.

Oooh, you're watching this too? I thought it was pretty good as well. Now that GoT is done, it's great to have something else good to look forward to. :)

I didn't notice the episode was nearly an hour long because I found it so absorbing. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Clarence and Gloucester.

I wonder how far they take the story in this series?

I'm glad you're enjoying The White Queen so far. I'm looking forward to seeing it -- and not just because Rupert Graves is supposed to be in it. *g* I'm going to try to wait until it's on TV, though I may end up watching it online if it takes too long.

I think it's unlikely to be shown here on ordinary TV, besides which my TV is bust!

I see Rupert Graves plays Lord Thomas Stanley, who betrays Richard III.

*g* Love your userpic!

Some people may think Richard deserved it, but Stanley changed sides in the middle of the Battle of Bosworth.

Thanks for the userpic love. You probably know this, but the screencap is from A Room with a View.

Yeah, changing sides in the middle of a battle is a bit low, though I loved it when Edward Sexby (John Simm) changed sides in the middle of an English Civil War battle in The Devil's Whore. The Royalists were treating him like crap, so he went and fought for the Roundheads. *g* Anywaaaaay...Rupert Graves is rather good at playing jerks: both the loveable kind and the not so loveable kind.

Yes, I recognised the screencap. Rupert is adorable as Freddie in A Room with a View.
